Halloween is coming! It seems like it was yesterday when we all welcomed the year 2017. Now, we are hitting the 11th month of 2017.

Halloween is an interesting month for everyone. For kids, Halloween is an eat-all-you-can month of candies and chocolate bars; while for teenagers, Halloween is about partying all night wearing their sluttiest costume that their parents’ probably don’t know exist. But for most, Halloween is a day where they remember and honor their loved ones’ memories who left in this world.

As for me, I usually started my day visiting my relatives in the cemetery and at night, I’m having horror movies marathon. I’m not considering watching horror movies as a tradition on Halloween since I’m always watching horror movies. I’m a fan. And as much as possible, I want to watch all of it no matter how weird their title is. There was one time I watched a movie and turns out it was porn that has a horror-themed on it. My sisters asked me if we were watching the right film.

Anyway, for those who love horror movies, these are the movies that I consider a must-watch on Halloween.

The Grudge (Japan)

I always watch this one with a promise that I’ll finish it. But I guess promises are really made to be broken because I never have the courage to finish it. Every time the all-white kid show up, my heart gave up and I turned it off. I’m not sure if this is the case for everyone, but if you’re brave enough, go watch it. And I’ll appreciate it a lot if you tell me the ending.

The Ring (Japan)

Since I don’t understand Nihongo, I waited for this to be dubbed in English or Tagalog. Luckily, one of the TV networks here in the Philippines dubbed it in Tagalog, so, I’m able to watch it. Big mistake! The movie itself is terrifying and since I’m able to understand the story, I just feel 3X of that terror when I watched it. I ended changing the channel to a religious mass whenever I feel scared.

Shake, Rattle & Roll: LRT (Philippines)

There are lots of Filipino horror movies but I never feel so scared upon watching it. I don’t know if I’m not just easily get scared, or it is not scary at all. So, when I watched one of the movie installments of Shake, Rattle & Roll, I didn’t expect too much. Shake, Rattle & Roll consists of 3 to 4, I think, short stories.

But I stand corrected when I watched LRT. LRT is a train station here in the Philippines and the story evolves on its last trip. I will not tell you the story but after I’ve watched it, I never rode on the last trip of LRT for few weeks.

Battle Royale (Japan)

This movie is not scary but disturbing. A group of students is forced to kill one another. The last student standing or alive will be declared the winner.

When I watched this movie, I was in college and we have an upcoming field trip. One of my classmates told me that we will end up like those students in the movie. I swear, I almost back out from that field trip because I know I will not survive if that happens.

Insidious 1 & 2 (U.S)

I didn’t get scared with this movie but I love the story. The creator did a great job on connecting the story together. Not all movies can do that, so, I’ll give them that credit.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe (U.S)

I’m bored when I discovered this movie. I just want to watch a horror movie that time. So, even the synopsis is boring, I still decided to watch it. And I must say it was a good decision because the movie is great. I love the story. The best part of it is the revelation.

Jeepers Creepers 1 (U.S)

The only part of this movie that I get scared is whenever the song is playing because I know in any second the Jeepers Creepers will snatch people.

IT (U.S 2017)

This is a Stephen King’s work, obviously, this is scary and great. But I think what makes this scarier is the portrayal of the children. Once upon a time, we were all kids so we know how helpless we were to be scared of something that no adults could see or understand.

Urban Legend and the Sixth Sense (U.S)

This might be old movies but when it comes to good story matched with good acting, this is still two of the best horror movies, in my opinion.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (U.S)

Halloween will never be complete without Freddy Krueger messing around in your dreams.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose (U.S)

All exorcism-related movies are indeed scary. But this one… I’ll just say after I watched this, I become paranoid every time I woke up 3 in the morning.

Coraline (U.S)

If you love both animated and horror movie, Coraline is a good movie to watch. The movie isn’t that scary. But the story is great.

Alma (Spain)

Alma is a short animated film and it is scary beyond expectation. Just watch it for yourself.

Lights Out (U.S)

I’m not a big fan of the storyline but I still ended sleeping with lights on few weeks after I watched this.

I still have a long list of great horror movies to watch on Halloween but I don’t want to make this post lengthy. So, I’ll just leave the rest for your personal picks.

Happy watching!

Convenient and hassle-free shopping experience are just two of the reasons why online shopping become in demand these days.

At first, I am hesitant to buy in any online shops. No one can blame me, with all the news about being scam, I am just being practical and cautious. But I am not totally against buying in online shops. In 2014, that was when I first trust an online shop – Metrodeal. I bought food coupons, gift certificates, and other things that doesn’t need to be fit. Up to this day, I never had a single problem with them.

That was when I realized that not all online shops are scam…. They can be trusted.

Last year, I started again to shop online. I saw the necklace that I always wanted on HolyLand Mall page in FaceBook, so I placed my order and waited for someone to call for confirmation. When they did, we talked about the price and delivery details. And everything went well. When I received the package, I am neither displease nor excited to what I’ve seen. Let’s just say, the necklace’s quality is not what I expected since it wasn’t cheap. But because of the sweet experience I had with them, when they called me again in November of 2016, I’ve been convinced to buy two necklace (with, of course, a promise that the quality is much better than the last one). So, I waited for it to be deliver.

When the delivery guy came in, I found out that they shipped the wrong product. I told the delivery guy about it and he advised me not to accept the package and just contact HolyLand Mall representative. And that was exactly what I did. This was when everything went from sweet to sour. I sent an e-mail to the HolyLand Mall representative (the one who I deal with in that transaction) and an SMS message to their mobile number that they provided. For the whole month of December, no one ever contacted me. I sent another SMS message and e-mail to them, but this time, the e-mail bounced back to me with a message that the e-mail address that I am trying to contact DOES NOT EXIST.

Honestly, when I read those words, my heart got broken into pieces. But God is good, because the payment method I chose was cash on delivery. So, my money is still safe with me.

January of this year, a representative called me with regard of my complain but I told her I’m not interested anymore, in an irate mode. I know it wasn’t fair for the representative, but she is just a month late for a damage control.

Another experience I had was with Corset Authority PH, this happened last year as well. I was looking for a legit waist trainer back then and I found their page on Facebook. So, I did my research and found not a single complain about them. So, I made my order. But since I was clueless about waist trainer, I asked the representative of what type of waist trainer is best for me and she did give me an answer. She was very friendly and accommodating. She told me everything that I needed to know. And when the package arrived, I instantly fell in love with it.

Since I received a great product, I recommended it with my sisters. On December, my sisters decided to buy their own waist trainer. Unfortunately, they don’t have stocks anymore for that specific waist trainer. But the representative offered me a different type of waist trainer. I asked if the size is different, she said no. I waited for her to tell me the difference of that waist trainer and the one that I have (since that was what she did to me before), but she tells me nothing. Instantly, I thought it is exactly the same.

When I received the package early January, I am more excited than my sisters. But when they tried it, it was defective and it is not exactly the same with my waist trainer. I tried many times and in different ways to wear a waist trainer but still it didn’t work. So, I contacted the representative through FB messenger, and told her everything with pictures of the waist trainer. And once again, my experience went from sweet to sour.

After a long argument, they replaced my order.

I do love their waist trainer. I will still recommend it to everyone. But with all the things they’ve said to me, it’s best for me to not buy in there anymore.

With all the things that I’ve experience with online shops, I learned one thing and that is, you’ll always have a red-carpet experience for your first purchase. Don’t expect the same for your next.

Anyway, that is just for now. I might still change my mind if I found another online shop like Metrodeal.

The X-Files: Skin — Not a review

Normally after I read a book, I just toss it to my shelf and move on. I never wrote a review for any book. And I don’t consider this post a review either. I just want to say/write something about it.

With my posts and stories, you may notice that I LOVE reading/writing horror, thriller, and suspense genre. So it’s not a surprised that ‘The X-Files: Skin’ caught my attention. But after reading it, I have mixed emotions about it.

Don’t get me wrong, I love it! The story was great. I love how Ben Mezrich describe the settings of the story especially the Thailand part, it was flawless in my opinion. I really imagine myself in those caverns and the small city of Alkut.

Also, I love how he incorporates the country’s superstitious beliefs to the story. I’ve tried it before in one of my stories, but no luck.

Anyway, the reasons why I’m not that fully satisfied with the story because of its twist – the man who they thought died years ago turned out to be alive – too predictable. Also, the lack of closure on Emile Paladin’s part – when Mulder finally faced him he didn’t say anything or much about the drones. His reasons.

That’s only my opinion. But in spite of those reasons, I enjoyed it. XD

Movie Review: Magic Mike XXL

I’m in the middle of browsing tweets when I bumped into to this tweet…

3.	Joe Manganiello as Big Dick Richie Magic Mike XXL movie review

Then I realized that I never wrote a review for this movie. Yes, I watched Magic Mike on the big screen with my good friends and it was worth it! Big time!

Normally, Magic Mike isn’t the kind of movie that I’ll be interested to watch in. I never even heard of it when it first showed in 2012. I just learned about it Halloween of 2013 when one of my colleagues shouted to one of the participants of best Halloween costume contest “You look more like Magic Mike than a zombie” pertaining to his costume.

Then I asked “Who’s Magic Mike?” in a sarcastic tone of course (that’s me! always sarcastic) One of my friends type in to YouTube ‘Magic Mike’ and voila! I met Magic Mike.

And of course the first person I’ve noticed then is none other than, Matt Bomer… My ken! I love him so much, and I love him even more in that movie. Well who wouldn’t want to see him dancing with his ass waving on your face?!

That was why when I heard that it has a sequel which is Magic Mike XXL, I get excited! And at the same time I raised my right eyebrow on this. Why? Simply because Magic Mike is just a bunch of good looking strippers who dance their ass off! That’s it! So what story they can possibly come up to make the sequel stand out? (Do you get my point?)

But eventually they did come up with something. And story-wise, it’s way much better than the first one. I just hate it because they focused the movie more on the story than to stripping.

But I forgave them once I saw the dance moves, it’s far better than the first movie. And, there are lots of surprises in this movie that I really love. Here are the moments &characters that I love the most in this movie:

  1. Matt Bomer as Ken – This is given, I know. But I admit that ‘My Ken’ didn’t stand out from this movie compared to the last one. He’s so reserved and quiet. But he’s Matt Bomer so whatever happens I still love him.
  1. Channing Tatum as Magic Mike – I’m not a fan of Channing Tatum. He’s good-looking (can’t deny that), but his charm didn’t captivate me. But on this movie, OH MY GOD!!! (Imagine Janice of ‘Friends’ saying that. That’s exactly how I said it.) That’s all I can say. I instantly fell in love with him over and over again. Especially when he danced on his workshop with the drill, when he danced in the club of Rome, and of course, his last performance… BRAVO Channing! You definitely know how to make us (women) happy.
  1. Joe Manganiello as Big Dick Richie – He’s one of the characters that I found boring. He is attractive (very given) but what I don’t like about him is he’s a big man acting like a little girl at the beginning of the movie. No self-confident and looking for the perfect woman. O…K! But of course, he surprised us all with his fifty shades of grey dance moves. And once again I said it — OH MY GOD!!!
  1. Kevin Nash as Tarzan – When I first saw the poster, my immediate reaction was “What this old man doing in Magic Mike?” Yes, you can curse me for being judgmental. But when he made his performance, I’m all his! I love how he paint and how charming he is while painting. I just love him so much!
  1. Jada Pinkett Smith as Rome – She is the best! I LOVE her more than I love the male characters. Every word she says on how a woman should feel and be treated by their man is so true. And I realized that’s all I ever wanted, to be loved and worshipped. It was a wise move for Magic Mike XXL director to cast a woman… to cast her.
  1. Elizabeth Banks as Paris – I know she only has a small participation in this movie. But I love her because of her moment with Rome. When they looked at each other, there is a spark. I don’t even need to know their past because I’m pretty sure it is something very special. They are good actresses!
  1. Amber Heard as Zoe – Compared to the leading lady of Channing Tatum in the first movie, I like her more. She’s charming and not-so-uptight like the last one.
  1. And lastly, my favorite line was said by Rome: “Are you ready to be worshipped? Are you ready to be exulted?”

Overall, I love this movie. This is the kind of movie that I can watch whenever I’m lonely, stress, and broken-hearted. 😉

Anyway, that is my review. I hope you all enjoyed.

How far will you sacrifice just for love?

Maybe for some, it’s a stupid question.

But for someone, like me, who doesn’t been in love all her life, it’s a tough question.

Yes, at my age, I never been in love even I already had a boyfriend.

But that’s not the topic of my post.

Moving back.

I watched a movie entitled: Jack and the cuckoo clock heart and suddenly it hit me. The story is not a very deep one like ‘A walk to remember’ or ‘The Notebook’. But it still caught my attention, and even broke my heart.

The story is very simple.

Jack was born with a weak heart. For him to survive, the midwife replaced his heart with a clock. His mother abandoned him after giving birth, so the midwife raised him as a son she never had. She guide and loved him. She also made three rules for Jack to survive. And guess what? One of the rules is not to fall in love. But of course, he did fall in love.

Sadly, even the movie didn’t literally showed it, his delicate heart stop upon receiving his true love’s kiss.

I’m not supposed to be mad or disappointed by this because killing is my specialty. I love my characters to die in the most painful way possible.

But with this, I guess I’m still a kid inside. A kid who still believe in happily ever after and Prince Charming.
